Boston Bruins forward Morgan Geekie will have plenty of friends and family in attendance on Thursday.
The Bruins are on the road to play the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday night. Geekie was born in Manitoba and said there will be friends and family in attendance on Thursday.
Geekie, meanwhile, said the experience will mean a lot for him, and it’s cool to play to have a homecoming.
“It is super cool to play in your hometown, not quite my hometown, but home province,” Geekie said on Thursday after morning skate. “It means a lot to share it with everybody here.”
Although Geekie is excited to play in front of friends and family, once the puck drops, the focus goes back to the game.

The Bruins sniper said he likes the way the team is playing right now and hopes the team can continue its winning ways.
“I like the way we are trending right now,” Geekie said. “Win a few in a row, and obviously, everything is good when you are winning. Just try to keep things rolling tonight.”
Boston is on a three-game winning streak and is 6-4-0 in its last 10 games. The Bruins are 18-13-0 and in third place in the Atlantic Division.
