The New England Patriots are having an outstanding season, and they could end up holding the Vince Lombardi Trophy in Santa Clara, Calif.

New England will need several key factors to come together if it hopes to secure its seventh Super Bowl title. According to Brad Gagnon from Bleacher Report, the Patriots could benefit from a standout performance from quarterback Drake Maye, along with momentum and the advantage of playing at home.

“Basically all of the above in addition to the fact the Patriots have a good shot at home field throughout the playoffs,” Gagnon wrote on Friday. “Maye is a prime MVP candidate as the conference’s highest-rated passer, they haven’t lost since September, and four of their last five home victories have come by 13-plus points.”

The Patriots currently hold the No. 2 seed in the AFC, one spot behind the Denver Broncos, who share New England’s 11-2 record.

If New England can secure the No. 1 seed in the conference, everything in the AFC will flow through Foxborough, which would be a significant advantage.

The Patriots would secure a first-round bye by clinching the No. 1 seed. With a week off and home-field advantage, this could propel the Patriots back to the Super Bowl for the first time since the 2018 season.
