The New England Patriots signed linebacker Chad Muma to the 53-man roster off the tIndianapolis Colts practice roster.
The Patriots made the decision due to an injury to Robert Spillane as New England could use more depth at linebacker.
On Wednesday, Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel was asked about the decision to sign Muma and he believes the linebacker can play right away and make an impact.
“I think he’s played in this league,” Vrabel said on Wednesday. “Again, we get down to this time of the year where you’ve got to find some guys that have played in games and that you could use in fourth down or the kicking game.
“Good speed, good ability to process and understand what’s going on. So, I think his experience helps, and obviously what he can do and how quickly he can learn.”
