Philip Rivers shocked the NFL world last week by coming out of retirement to play for the Indianapolis Colts. Nearly five years after his last NFL game, the 44-year-old held his own against one of the best defenses in the league, nearly upsetting the Seattle Seahawks on the road.

Rivers’ stunning comeback has prompted a lot of discussion about other NFL stars possibly unretiring, including former New England Patriots stars Rob Gronkowski and Tom Brady. While Gronkowski would only be interested in joining a practice squad, Brady believes he could still dominate.

After telling Colin Cowherd he could “generate drives” last week, Brady made an even bolder claim on “The Big Podcast” this week.

“I’d whoop a** right now. Absolutely. I could go out there and play. Give me a month. I could go play with anybody,” Brady said. “I took care of my body great. I could do it all.”

Brady acknowledged that he wouldn’t want to make the commitment of playing a full season and all the training that entails. He already played 23 seasons and has too many other things going on in his life now between his family, broadcasting career and business interests.

The 48-year-old hasn’t played an NFL game in nearly three years. However, he was still playing at a high level when he retired, and based on Rivers’ performance last Sunday, anything is possible.

As a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, Brady is prohibited from playing in the NFL anyway. Still, it’s fun to think about how the seven-time Super Bowl champ would fare in a comeback attempt.
