Broncos head coach Sean Payton has done an incredible job leading Denver this season, and as a result, it is currently holding the No. 1 seed in the AFC.
Payton is not only aiming to secure the AFC’s No. 1 seed, but he’s also working to match former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick in the record books.
If the Broncos can secure one more victory in the regular season over the next three weeks, Payton will achieve his 13th win of the season. This milestone would tie him with Belichick, who won 13 or more games five times.
Denver will face the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, which could mark Payton’s 13th victory of the season.

Payton achieved a remarkable 13 wins across four seasons as the head coach of the New Orleans Saints, including 2009, 2011, 2018 and 2019.
Ever since Payton accepted the head coaching job with Denver in 2023, it always felt like he had the potential to turn the Broncos around. Now, it’s finally happening this season with second-year quarterback Bo Nix leading the way.
Denver and New England share many similarities this season, with two second-year quarterbacks at the helm. There’s a chance the Broncos could face the Patriots in the AFC Championship game, reminiscent of their classic matchups.
