The Boston Celtics rallied from a 20-point deficit on Monday night against the Indiana Pacers to pull out a 103-95 victory. As has been the case for much of the season, Jaylen Brown led the C’s to victory, and it turns out that the Pacers may have made the mistake of poking the bear.
Brown, like the rest of his teammates, endured a slow start, but he gradually got going in the second half of the game, and he ended up finishing with a game-high 31 points to go along with nine rebounds and two assists.
Something seemed to click for Brown down the stretch, as he took over the game to ensure that his team would not lose to a struggling Indiana squad. According to the man himself, that could have been due to one Pacers player talking too much trash to him.
“Some of those dudes was talking trash over there … it kind of got me going a bit,” Brown said. “The beauty of it is we’ve got a game in a couple days, and what makes it even more beautiful is you get to play the same team again. Some of them dudes over there, one dude in particular, was talking a little crazy, so I’m looking forward to the next one.”
While Brown didn’t single this player out by name, chances are he will be targeting them when these two teams meet up again on Friday. Considering the level at which Brown has been playing at this season, that likely isn’t a good sign for the Pacers’ hopes of winning this game.

Even when it looks like he’s set to have an off night, Brown has been finding a way to power the Celtics to victory this season. He will look to do that again when Boston and Indiana take the court on Friday at 7 p.m. ET for what could end up being a rather chippy matchup.
