New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye has plenty of respect for Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert.

The Patriots are set to host the Chargers in the Wild Card round of the playoffs, and the game will feature two stellar quarterbacks going up against one another.

Following New England’s 38-10 win over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, Maye had plenty of praise for Herbert and his game.

“I don’t know if I’ve met Justin, I don’t think I have,” Maye said postgame on Sunday. “I know him through people and heard great things. Obviously, I love his game. I love the way he throws the football. He throws at a really high level. He can make plays on the move, can make plays off platform, can launch it.

“I think just the way he holds himself and cares about his teammates, he’s really good the team and not about himself, I have a lot of respect for Justin and how he plays the game and plays at a really high level.”

Herbert finished the year throwing for 3,727 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions. It was another good year, and Maye had plenty of nice words for the 27-year-old.

The Patriots opened as a 3.5-point favorite to defeat Los Angeles. Kick-off is set for 8 p.m. ET on Sunday.
