The New England Patriots overcame the injury bug, just in time for an illness to make its way through the locker room.
Mike Vrabel offered the unfortunate update during his media availability on Wednesday, sharing that offensive linemen Morgan Moses, Garrett Bradbury and Vederian Lowe, and linebacker Anfernee Jennings were ill and would not be practicing during the club’s first session before its wild-card matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
Moses (94.42%) and Bradbury (97.99%) have played more snaps than anyone else on the offensive line this season, with both appearing in every game. Lowe (29.07%) started four games during the absence of Will Campbell.
Jennings (27.48%) primarily served in a reserve role, though he did start three games and saw his role increase during the absence of Harold Landry III.
New England will hope the illness’ don’t stretch into the weekend, with the expected returns of Campbell, Landry, Robert Spillane, Jared Wilson and Milton Williams putting them close to full strength entering the postseason.
