The New England Patriots finished off their 2025 regular-season campaign with a 38-10 blowout victory over the Miami Dolphins, helping them wrap up the No. 2 seed in the AFC playoff picture. Along the way, the team had some fun, as evidenced by a viral clip of star wide receiver Stefon Diggs and head coach Mike Vrabel.

For New England, the stakes in this game were simple. If they wanted any shot at somehow earning the No. 1 seed in the AFC, they needed to win. Even then, if they wanted to ensure they’d hold onto the No. 2 seed, taking down the Dolphins was a must.

Midway through this game, a mic’d up clip caught Vrabel taking a hilarious NSFW shot at Diggs about his lack of blocking in the run game. With the soundbite taking on a life of its own on social media, former Patriots’ Super Bowl champion Jason McCourty made his thoughts on the exchange very clear.

Vrabel has pushed all of the right buttons in his first season as New England’s head coach. Perhaps none of his work has been more important than his relationship with Diggs, who put together a 1,000-yard campaign as Drake Maye’s top target in the passing game.

Diggs is a bit of a divisive character in NFL circles, but he’s come in and been everything the team could have hoped for from him. While he deserves credit for assimilating into the Pats’ offense seamlessly, Vrabel has clearly gotten Diggs to buy into his system.

Both of these guys have delivered the goods in 2025, and they will look to continue that in the postseason now. New England will open its playoff campaign with a wild-card matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday night at 8 p.m. ET.
