According to multiple reports ahead of Thursday’s arbitration deadline, the Boston Red Sox are not going to arbitration with any players this offseason.
MassLive’s Chris Cotillo reported on X that “Red Sox will not be going to arbitration with any players this year.”
Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reported that as well. “Per a source, the Red Sox are finalizing deals for all four of their arg eligible players today: Tanner Houck, Triston Casas, Romy Gonzalez and Johan Oviedo. They expect to reach deals with all four by the end of the day, avoiding arb hearings,” McCaffrey shared on X.
While the specifics of those deals are still being finalized, this is good news for the Red Sox. They also avoided arbitration with Kutter Crawford earlier in the week, signing him to a one-year, $2.75 million contract for the 2026 season.

Houck and Casas are coming off injury-shortened seasons, whereas Gonzalez is coming off the best year of his career. Boston just acquired Oviedo in a trade with the Pittsburgh Pirates last month.
Once those deals are taken care of, the Red Sox can continue to focus on re-signing Alex Bregman or making a different splash in free agency.
