Drake Maye (quarterback) and Marcus Jones (punt returner) were named to the second-team, with the former receiving 83 total points and 18-of-50 first-place votes — coming in significantly behind Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford (111; 31-of-50). Josh Allen received a single first-team vote.
Christian Gonzalez (20), Stefon Diggs (1), Hunter Henry (3), Mike Onwenu (4), Jaylinn Hawkins (4), Brenden Schooler (1) and Antonio Gibson (1) all received votes.
Maye’s case to be named NFL MVP isn’t dead in the water, as there have been three notable examples of a second-team quarterback still taking home the individual award — Josh Allen (2024), Steve McNair (2003) and John Elway (1987).
