According to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale and other sources, the Cleveland Guardians and franchise cornerstone Jose Ramirez agreed on Saturday to terms on a restructured contract extension that adds four years and $106 million to his current deal.

Ramirez delivered another stellar performance in the 2025 MLB season for the Guardians, who captured the American League Central title. He batted .283 with 168 hits, 30 home runs, 85 RBIs, 103 runs scored, and 44 stolen bases across 158 games, posting an .863 OPS and 5.8 WAR.

Ramirez earned his sixth Silver Slugger award and finished third in AL MVP voting, marking his ninth top-10 finish in that category.

Over his career since debuting in 2013, the Dominican infielder has established himself as one of baseball’s elite. Through 2025, he’s amassed 1,609 games, 1,668 hits, 285 home runs, 949 RBIs, and 287 stolen bases, with a .279 average and .857 OPS.

His accolades include seven All-Star selections, four All-MLB Team honors, and consistent leaderboard presence in power-speed metrics.
