Kurt Warner was the guy that Tom Brady and the New England Patriots beat to win the franchise’s first Super Bowl back in 2002, and it sounds like Warner might feel some type of way about it.

On Monday morning, following the current Patriots clinching a berth in Super Bowl LX, Warner posted a weird, passive aggressive post to X that sort of attempted to give Drake Maye’s offense a back-handed compliment before just downright saying they weren’t good in the AFC title game.

“Starting the tape from yesterday’s games & you NEVER apologize or give back SB appearances bc they are hard to come by,” Warner wrote. “BUT I can’t remember a rougher offensive performance leading to a SB birth than what the Patriots had yesterday! Even before any weather rolled in it was pretty ugly!! A couple runs by Maye & 1 good flea-flicker throw to Hollins was about all they really did!”

There’s a lot to unpack here. To begin with, the fact that Warner only mentioned the weather conditions to bring up that the Pats struggled before it started snowing was kind of missing the whole point.

Warner is ignoring the frigid temperatures in Denver during the entire game, temperatures that he would have definitely struggled with during his career, having excelled in a dome with the Rams, and later, in sunny Arizona as the Cardinals’ QB.

Ironically, Warner has spoken out in the past about the unfair aspect of weather conditions in the NFL playoffs, namely that certain QBs aren’t prepared to deal with such conditions in the postseason if they’ve not experienced them during the regular season.

We don’t really know why Warner decided to post this, but it’s worth saying that he has a Super Bowl ring of his own, two MVPs, and a Hall of Fame jacket.
