Boston Celtics guard Ron Harper Jr. will be taking part in the NBA All-Star Weekend.

The four-year guard has been selected to compete for the G League team for the NBA Rising Stars game.

The 6-foot-5 guard hasn’t had much opportunity to play with the Celtics this season, participating in seven games and averaging 1.9 points.

However, he’s making quite an impact in the G League. Harper has appeared in 16 games, where he’s putting up impressive numbers with an average of 24.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game.

Harper began the 2024-25 season by competing in the Summer League and playing for the Maine Celtics. However, the Pistons signed him midway through the season. Detroit decided not to bring him back this past offseason, and the Celtics signed Harper to an Exhibit 10 deal during training camp. This eventually led him to sign a two-way contract after training camp wrapped up.

The Celtics have such a deep roster that Harper may not get much playing time for the rest of the season. Regardless, if players are injured, he might need to step in and make an impact for a while.
