The Boston Bruins suffered a tough 4-3 overtime loss to the New York Rangers on Monday night, but they won’t have to wait long to get an opportunity to bounce back, as they will square off against the Nashville Predators on Tuesday. Ahead of this game, defenseman Hampus Lindholm received some big news.
After playing in just 17 games last season, Lindholm has reestablished himself as a key piece of the Bruins’ defense. In 39 games this year, Lindholm has three goals and 13 assists while skating just over 22 minutes per game.
With the 2026 Winter Olympics approaching, it initially appeared that Lindholm was going to be one of the bigger snubs from his native Sweden’s roster. Instead, with Jonas Brodin set to miss the Games, Lindholm has been added to the team’s roster for the 2026 Olympics as an injury replacement.
“The Swedish Olympic team has added forward Marcus Johansson and defenseman Hampus Lindholm to their Milan roster as injury replacements for Leo Carlsson and Jonas Brodin,” Chris Johnston of The Athletic shared in a post on X.
Lindholm was dealing with his own injury issues earlier this month, but he managed to get himself healthy just in time to be included on Sweden’s roster. Now, he will get an opportunity to represent his country on one of the biggest stages in the world.

First, Lindholm and the Bruins have some work to do before they make it to the Olympic break. That starts with their aforementioned matchup against the Predators, with puck drop scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday night.
