Super Bowl appearances may be nothing new for the New England Patriots organization, but for head coach Mike Vrabel and 48 of the 53 players on New England’s roster, this is uncharted territory.

Vrabel won three Super Bowls as a player under legendary head coach Bill Belichick’s rule, so it’s likely the schedule he is following will be similar.

Vrabel gave the players both Monday and Tuesday off to “get healthy.”

He told reporters the team would be back in the building Wednesday afternoon for a lift, a run and some player-run “light football drills.”

The Patriots will be back to regular practices on Thursday and Friday, but the weekend will be unlike any other this season.

“We have an opportunity to take a day off on Saturday,” Vrabel said. “And then travel Sunday, get some movement in — probably light movement back in the weight room before we travel Sunday — then Monday will be like a bonus day, which we’ve used coming off a bye week, to kind of do some drills and some movement.”

Next Tuesday will be another off day, and then the team will be back on its regularly scheduled programming, with Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday conducted “like a normal week.”

The Patriots will be practicing at Stanford University, approximately 20 minutes west of Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., the site of Super Bowl LX.
