The Boston Bruins picked up a 3-2 overtime win over the Nashville Predators on Tuesday.
Boston was coming off an overtime loss on the road against the New York Rangers on Monday, but the weather impacted the team’s travel plans. The Bruins didn’t arrive back in Boston until 1:30 p.m. ET, which gave the team less than six hours to get ready for the game.
It wasn’t an easy game to get ready for, and Bruins forward Morgan Geekie said he’s happy with how the team responded to the adversity.
”It’s huge,” Geekie said on Tuesday, as seen on NESN’s postgame coverage. “Especially when you’re kind of faced with adversity a little bit like that, it’s easy to throw in the towel and make some excuses.
“But I think it just speaks to the character of the group that we know nothing is going to come easy, and we’re ready to battle through adversity whenever that may be. These are the games we’ll talk about when our careers and stuff are done.”

Bruins head coach Marco Sturm was also pleased with how his team played to grind out a 3-2 overtime win.
”I was actually very happy,” Sturm said. “Nobody was complaining. We just did the best possible, right? It was a little bit out of our control, so we just had to grind it out a little bit. Our staff, everyone around, helped us.”
The Bruins were led by David Pastrnak, who had a goal and an assist – including netting the OT winner – while Geekie and Hampus Lindholm also scored.

Boston will return to the ice on Thursday at home against the Philadelphia Flyers. The Bruins will then go outdoors to play the Tampa Bay Lightning in a Stadium Series game in sunny Florida on Feb. 1.
