With the New England Patriots going back to the Super Bowl, Patriots owner Robert Kraft has been in the news a lot this week. Between defending Bill Belichick’s Hall of Fame candidacy and refuting the “Kardashian Curse,” he’s been a busy man lately.
Kraft also made headlines for non-football reasons after making a surprise appearance with President Donald Trump on Thursday night.
Kraft was photographed next to Trump in the presidential box at the Trump-Kennedy Center in Washington. He was attending a special screening of the new Melania Trump documentary, “Melania.”
The documentary, directed by Brett Ratner and co-produced by its subject with a reported price tag of $75 million, was released by Amazon MGM Studios on Friday. It follows the first lady in the 20 days leading up to her husband’s second presidential inauguration last January.

Kraft has known Trump for decades and donated to his first inauguration in 2017, so they go way back. Their relationship seemed to cool recently, however, as Kraft said in late 2024 that he hadn’t spoken to Trump since the events of Jan. 6, 2021.
That is apparently no longer the case, as the two seem to have smoothed things over. Earlier this week, Trump said, “Bob Kraft is a friend of mine” and called the Patriots a “great team.”
New England will face the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara on Feb. 8. The Patriots are underdogs, but if they win, it will be their NFL-record seventh championship under Kraft’s ownership group.
