Add Travis Kelce to a growing list of people picking against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX.
For the first time in four years, Kelce won’t play in the Super Bowl. The Kansas City Chiefs, who have won five AFC titles in six seasons since New England’s last championship, missed the playoffs for the first time since 2014.
With an earlier start to his offseason, Kelce previewed Sunday’s Super Bowl on his “New Heights” podcast. The 11-time Pro Bowler tipped his cap to Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel and quarterback Drake Maye.
“Obviously huge Vrabel fan,” Kelce said. “Drake Maye’s got his opportunity to implement himself into Super Bowl stardom. And I just think it’s gonna be a great game.”
Kelce also commended New England’s coaching staff for dictating the tempo.

“They just have the ability to control the pace of every game that they’re in, and make the right decisions and the big plays when they need to be made on the offensive side,” Kelce added. “That defense is good, man.”
However, he’s also impressed by a Seahawks squad with “juice” on both sides of the football. Like many others, he predicted a Seattle triumph.
“They got the energy,” Kelce said. “They got the excitement. They got the big-play ability. They got the ability to grind it out in the run game. It’s gonna be a (expletive) fun matchup. That defense flies around. I’m sure they’ll make Drake Maye’s job a little bit harder than it’s been.

“I’m excited for a (expletive) great game, but I do think Seattle’s got what it takes to come out on top on this one.”
Kelce also admitted that he can’t help but root for Sam Darnold, who has revitalized his career after a rough start with the New York Jets and Carolina Panthers.
“I love that story,” Kelce said. “I love who he is as a dude, how he stayed true to the process and himself and his confidence. And right now, he’s playing better than he’s played all his career.”
