The New England Patriots lost to the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl, and the team now turns its attention to free agency and the draft.

New England has plenty of cap space to be aggressive in free agency to bolster its roster. The Patriots could look to bring in more weapons to help out quarterback Drake Maye, and one option could be tight end David Njoku.

NFL analyst Drake Bentley of The Sporting News links the Patriots as a potential landing spot for Njoku.

“The New England Patriots coming off a Super Bowl loss to the Seattle Seahawks could be interested in the tight end,” Bentley wrote in an article published on Tuesday. “Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel worked with the Browns in 2024 as a consultant.”

Mike Vrabel is familiar with Njoku, and he would give Maye another target. The Patriots have starting tight end Hunter Henry as a pending free agent, which is why Njoku could be a fit.

Njoku has spent his entire career with the Cleveland Browns after being taken in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Last season, he recorded 33 receptions for 293 yards and four touchdowns.

Njoku announced on social media that he would be leaving the Browns in free agency.
