The Dallas Cowboys received more bad news on the injury front Monday.

Running back Lance Dunbar is out for the remainder of the season with a torn ACL and MCL, injuries he suffered on the opening kickoff of the second half during Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints.

Dallas coach Jason Garrett met with the media Monday before the team received the results of the MRI, but he already knew “it didn’t look good.”

Dunbar was having a breakout season for the Cowboys before his injury. He was a valuable weapon in the passing game coming out of the backfield, tallying 21 catches for 215 yards.

The Cowboys still have running backs Joseph Randle and Darren McFadden ahead of Sunday’s matchup with the New England Patriots.
