The commissioner and the NFL have decided to conditionally reinstate Michael Vick, allowing him to participate in offseason workouts, practices, meetings and the final two preseason games for any team wishing to sign him, the Associated Press reports.
When the regular season begins, Vick will be eligible to participate in all activities except games. He could be playing on Sundays as soon as October, according to the report.
Goodell said in a press release that he will monitor Vick's behavior and decide upon his playing future by Week 6, Fanhouse.com reports.
After being released by the Falcons in June, Vick is now a free agent. Last week, Vick finished a 23-month prison and home confinement sentence for running a dogfighting ring.
