Jets' Jerricho Cotchery Misses Second Straight Practice A hamstring injury kept Jets wideout Jerricho Cotchery out of practice for the second consecutive day on Thursday. His status for this weekend’s matchup against Buffalo remains uncertain, but head coach Rex Ryan doesn’t sound too optimistic.

“It doesn’t look real good,” Ryan told ESPN.com. “We’ll see how he is.”

Although Cotchery took the field against Miami last Sunday, he has been hampered since suffering the injury during practice last Thurdsay. He sat out the two days prior to the game but still managed to play, and that appears to be what is happening now.

“We’re taking the same program we took last week,” Cotchery said. “We’re just trying to treat it hard every day and put in those long hours every day to make sure we’re taking care of this thing.”

Wide receiver Brad Smith also sat out practice for the second straight day with an injured quad. If neither he nor Cotchery can play on Sunday, David Clowney and Wallace Wright should be able to step in. Running back Danny Woodhead also worked out as a wide receiver during practice on Thursday.

“He could be like a slot receiver,” Ryan said of the 5-foot-7 Woodhead. “Sometimes you stumble into it, but he did a great job of being like Wes Welker when we were preparing for New England. We put him in the slot, and he was really tough. He really was.”
