According to the Boston Herald, Light — who disappeared to the locker room after injuring his knee in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 27-21 loss to Denver — moved without crutches, a cane or any other kind of assistance. If he can walk on his own, his chances of being able to take the field on Sunday against Tennessee are suddenly a whole lot better.
Although Light was limping slightly, all indications show that the injury is not very severe. If Light cannot play this weekend, backup Sebastian Vollmer will be ready to replace him.
Light, in the midst of his ninth NFL season, has spent his entire career in New England. Since 2002, he has started every game of the regular season except during an injury-riddled 2005 campaign, when he started just three games. Dating back to that year, he has started 59 consecutive games for the Patriots.
