Clubhouse Exchange Between Cole Hamels and Brett Myers Just a Joke? Calm down, everybody. There isn't any inner turmoil running rampant through the Phillies clubhouse.

Or so they claim.

In light of an unpleasant exchange between pitchers Cole Hamels and Brett Myers following Philadelphia's win in Game 5 of the World Series — which was overheard exclusively by a Yahoo Sports source — a team official contends the two were only joking with each other.

Late on Monday night, a witness said that Myers asked Hamels, "What are you doing here? I thought you quit." Myers was referring to statements Hamels made following his loss in Game 3, when he insinuated he couldn't wait for his season to be over.

According to the witness, Hamels responded with an expletive.

Phillies public relations director Greg Casterioto — and both Myers and Hamels — have insisted the exchange was lighthearted, according to another report by Yahoo Sports.

"Everything that was written was correct except for the interpretation," Casterioto told the Web site. "It wasn't a confrontation by any stretch of the imagination."
