Leigh Bodden Focused On Winning, Not On Contract After his three interceptions in Sunday's 31-14 win over the Jets, fans across New England are suddenly far more concerned about whether Leigh Bodden will be a Patriot next season.

The 28-year-old cornerback signed a one-year deal with New England this offseason after spending one year in Detroit and five years in Cleveland. Could Bodden be the back who sticks around to fill the void left by Ellis Hobbs and Asante Samuel?

Talk to him once the season is over.

"You know what? That's the least of my concerns," Bodden told Boston.com on Monday. "I came here on a one-year deal because I felt like that was the best situation, and the organization felt like that. I wanted to prove that I'm still a good player, good, top corner in the league. It just wasn't shown in Detroit because of the success that we didn't have."

Bodden has registered five interceptions this season, none of which were more significant than his three against the Jets on Sunday. With the Patriots suddenly having trouble asserting their offense in the second half, Bodden played a monumental role in keeping Mark Sanchez and the New York offense off the scoreboard — and he contributed a touchdown of his own with a pick-six in the first half.

"I'm playing well," Bodden said. "I just have to finish the season off good, hopefully [in] the playoffs and the Super Bowl. Just play to the best of my ability until the last game. That's all I'm really worried about. I'm not worried about any contract or anything like that."

Until February.
