Tuukka Rask's Shutout Earns Him Arbella Player of the Week The Bruins have had some trouble finding the back of the net, but they've had no problems in the goaltending department. Despite somewhat limited action, Tuukka Rask has established himself as a reliable backup for the Bruins, able to fill in admirably for reigning Vezina Trophy winner Tim Thomas.

Rask got the start in net on Saturday against the Oilers and was perfect, stopping all 19 shots on net on his way to earning the second shutout of his young career. He last held an opponent scoreless in his only start of the 2008-09 season, stopping all 35 shots in a 1-0 win over the Rangers.

This year, Rask is 2-1-1 in four starts, posting a 2.41 GAA and .915 save percentage.

The 22-year-old from Finland capped off his week by signing a two-year contract extension, keeping him with the Bruins through the 2011-12 season.

He can't help the Bruins fix their offensive woes, but once the goals start coming, he'll be a nice asset on the B's roster.
