Daniel Carcillo Not Suspended for Shoving Linesman Following Dust-Up With Matt HunwickNHL disciplinarian Colin Campbell has been fairly lenient with on-ice infractions recently — especially when the offense happens against the Bruins.

Two days after the NHL let Matt Cooke off the hook for going head-hunting on Marc Savard, Philadelphia Flyers’ winger Daniel Carcillo was similarly pardoned for shoving linesman Greg Devorski after a skirmish with Matt Hunwick, according to CSNPhilly.com.

While Cooke went unpunished in the run of play, Carcillo was assessed a game misconduct for his actions after Devorski stepped between him and Hunwick to curb any potential fighting. Carcillo and Hunwick were also assessed minor roughing penalties.

Despite shoving an official, Carcillo escaped what Jack Edwards referred to during the broadcast as “supplemental discipline.” Ironically, the Flyers’ enforcer has nobody to thank but the man he pushed as Campbell told the Web site that if Devorski decided Carcillo needed further discipline, he could have been suspended for up to 20 games.
