Red Sox manager Terry Francona said Wednesday on WEEI’s Dale & Holley Show that Victor Martinez will DH Wednesday night and David Ortiz will sit, as the Red Sox go for a sweep against the Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre.

Big Papi walked and scored a run in the second on Tuesday night. He later grounded into a double-play and popped out to center before being lifted in the eighth for pinch-hitter Mike Lowell with the bases loaded. Lowell then drew a bases-loaded, go-ahead walk.

"We are trying to do everything in our power to kind of scratch and claw and find a way to win a game," Francona said. "Every night, the way we are situated right now, there is going to be room to be second guessed.

"I think you guys make more of it than we do," he added. "That's not what I'm thinking about during the game. I don't think David heard me when I was yelling at him right away. The idea is never to embarrass anybody, of course. But we are trying to run the game, and you don't know the situation before the at-bat comes up. You wait, but that's certainly not something we would ever try to do is embarrass anybody."
