LaDainian Tomlinson's Personal Goal: Sweeping Patriots in 2010 When LaDainian Tomlinson was a member of the Chargers, he only got to face the Patriots once a year, if he was lucky. On rare occasions, he'd get a second shot at them in the playoffs.

But now that he's suiting up with Rex Ryan's troops in the Meadowlands, facing his personal archrival is something he's excited to do twice a season.

"It's going to be fun," Tomlinson told Boston.com. "The Patriots have always been one of them teams that it's hard for me to swallow that pill of losing to them, so it's going to be fun to play them twice a year."

Tomlinson, who signed with the Jets after being released from San Diego this offseason, offered up a lofty goal as well.

"It's going to be one of my main goals to beat them twice," he said.

Just for some perspective, the Jets haven't swept the Patriots since 2000 — and back then, Bill Belichick was in the midst of his first season in New England, the Patriots were playing at Foxboro Stadium and Tom Brady was riding the bench.
