The deal is reportedly worth $1.7 million, according to The Boston Globe's and NESN insider Shalise Manza Young.
Holt, 33, will bring 11 years of NFL experience to Foxboro. With Wes Welker sidelined indefinitely as he recovers from his knee surgery and a lack of experience at the position on the roster, Holt could be a stabilizing force in the receiving corps.
After spending his first 10 seasons with the St. Louis Rams, Holt played 15 games for the Jacksonville Jaguars last season, catching 51 passes for 722 yards. For the first time in his career, though, he did not score a touchdown.
In his career, he's caught 920 passes for 13,382 yards and 74 touchdowns. He ranks 11th all time in receptions — just one spot behind new teammate Randy Moss (926) — and 10th all time in reception yards (Moss is sixth with 14,465).
