Local Celebrities 'Tame the Tigers' in Fundraiser for Jimmy Fund On May 20, local celebrities took a shot at the longest golf course in the world in an attempt to ‘tame the tigers’ and raise money for the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

The Pines at The International hosted the event for the third time. “We like to think it is getting bigger and better,” said Dennis Callahan of WEEI.

The event is geared towards taking 35 to 40 children to Ft. Myers to “stay at a nice little hotel with a water slide,” Callahan said.

“They get to be kids, not kids with cancer,” he added.

NESN also participated in the event, with Naoko Funayama taking part.

“This is a huge fundraiser and so everybody is just kind of out here having fun. … We are really, really lucky to be out here.”

An additional participant agreed.

“You hear the kids on the radio and you want to give all the money you have.”
