Red Sox starting catcher Victor Martinez is returning behind the dish to catch Tim Wakefield for Sunday's afternoon tilt.

Martinez was given the day off on Saturday night and Jason Varitek filled in admirably, calling Daisuke Matsuzaka's near no-hitter while chipping in with a single.

The Sox will take on a familiar foe in Roy Halladay, who is 14-14 with a 4.28 ERA against the Red Sox in his career.

Jacoby Ellsbury is 7-for-27 with two homers off Halladay, while Martinez (5-for-15), Kevin Youkilis (19-for-54, one HR), and J.D. Drew (9-for-30, one HR) all have pretty good numbers against the former Jays ace. Three players on the Sox bench — David Ortiz, Mike Lowell and Jason Varitek — have a combined 11 home runs and 43 RBIs against the righty.
