What Is Your Favorite Boston Sports Rivalry?

The Yankees are in town. The Bruins are on the verge of a sweep and a potential matchup with the Canadiens. The Celtics have a long way to go, but a Finals rematch with the Lakers is far from out of the question at this point.

With the sports scene in full force in Boston, what gets you most excited? More specifically, what is your favorite Boston sports rivalry? The question comes from Derek in Lynn, Mass.

It may seem like a foregone conclusion that the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry will be the favorite, but not so fast. The Bruins are picking up steam, and with the Canadiens tied at two games apiece with the Penguins, a B’s-Habs Eastern Conference finals matchup could bring the most exciting weeks of hockey this town has seen in a long, long time.

The Celtics are in a similar position. Putting together lackluster efforts since Christmas, nobody expected much out of the Green this spring. Yet here they are, having dominated for much of the first two games in Cleveland and owning a 1-1 series tie as the series shifts to Boston. If they can get past LeBron James and Co., who can stop them?

So what’s your favorite? If yours is Red Sox-Yankees, text “SOX1” to 542542, if yours is Bruins-Canadiens, text “SOX2” to 542542 or if it’s Celtics-Lakers, text “SOX3” to 542542.

As of 8 a.m. on Saturday, 63 percent of voters agree that the Sox-Yankees rivalry is the best in Boston, while 26 percent think the B’s-Habs battles are most heated. Just 12 percent feel that the C’s-Lakers’ rivalry is the best.
