The laser show was on full display Thursday when second baseman Dustin Pedroia went 5-for-5 with three home runs and five RBIs in a 13-11 win over the Rockies.
The offensive barrage came despite Pedroia’s previous lack of success while batting third.
Tom Caron and Jim Rice discussed how different Pedroia is from most No. 3 hitters on Red Sox GameDay Live prior to Friday’s game.
Rice also chimed in on the intangibles that Pedroia brings to the table.
“A lot of times, the fans, they’re not able to see the way he is in the clubhouse.” Rice said. “His presence in the clubhouse makes a big difference before he goes out on the field.”
