Montreal Canadiens Trade Jaroslav Halak to St. Louis Blues The Montreal Canadiens are sticking with Carey Price.

That, at least, can be deduced from the Thursday report that the team has traded goaltender Jaroslav Halak to the St. Louis Blues. In return, the Candiens will be getting forwards Lars Eller and Ian Schultz.

Details of the trade were not immediately known.

Halak, 25, won the starting job for the playoffs over Price, 22, and it was fairly obvious that the team would not be able to retain both netminders. The team had more stock invested in Price, which likely led to the deal.
