Joe Colborne Serving As 'Super Vet' for Younger Teammates Each day this week, NESN.com will share Joe Colborne's firsthand
experience from development camp.

On Monday, Colborne discussed "The Program," which helped
develop camaraderie and, of course, fitness. On Tuesday, Colborne shared the intense training that he and his teammates had to do in a swimming pool.

Below is Colborne's story from Day 3.

Day 3 — Demonstrations

I never thought I would see the day when I would be excited that I would only have to work out with Whitey (John Whitesides, strength coach for the Bruins and star of the infamous White-cize workout videos!). But, after "The Program," I was looking forward to getting back to the hockey-specific exercises that he has us complete, no matter how challenging they are sometimes.

First, we had our ice time, during which we undertook some power skating for the first half of practice. Again, as one of the "vets" this year at camp, I was asked to demonstrate the skating exercises. After struggling last year with some of them, I was nervous, but I felt much more at ease this year and avoided any terribly embarrassing moments. It was also great to have our first scrimmage, too, which ended 2-2, thanks to a great snipe from Butts [Ryan Button], not that we were keeping track out there at all.

In our workout after practice, Whitey walked us through many of the exercises that are included in our summer program and once again had me doing the demonstrations for the exercises. No wonder [Tyler] Seguin and some of the other young guys were calling me a "super vet'. But, thankfully, when we were doing some agility, [Matt] Dalton stepped up and took the lead.

That night, we went out bowling and for food. Zach Trotman was by far the biggest sandbagger at bowling I have ever seen, saying his consecutive streaks of strikes and spares were "lucky and pure flukes." His score said otherwise.
