Brett Favre's First 900 Days of Retirement Have Been Wild Ride It has now been 898 days since Brett Favre retired — the first time.

With Favre back in Minnesota and amateur journalist and Vikings insider Ryan Longwell reporting that the gunslinger will play this year, it seems as though the third consecutive summer of Brett has finally come to its dramatic and obvious conclusion.

While you likely haven't forgotten what Brett has put you through, there may be too many details to remember at this point. Here's a recap.

The saga begins in March 2008, with Favre's first and teariest retirement. We should have seen his return coming when he said, "I know I can play."

Two months later, Favre asked for his release and signed with the Jets.

After an up-and-down year in New York, Brett retired in February 2009.

Next, in August 2009: Breaking News — Favre boards plane to Minnesota. Sound familiar?

Things went pretty well in Minnesota, and it seemed like he may even go a summer without retiring, until the phantom text messages suggesting otherwise appeared early in August.

Finally, after clarifying his non-retirement shortly thereafter, Favre stayed in retirement limbo for a couple weeks, before returning to Minnesota while being followed like O.J. Simpson.

He's given us so many memories.

Quote of the Day

"Yeah. Heck, yeah. … We play the people in front of us a lot more times. If we play well, we're going to get [into the playoffs]. I mean, if we win games, we'll be fine"

The Renee Gork firing has lead to outrage in the Arkansas community.

"Being
a Graduate of the University of Arkansas and an native of Arkansas, I
am embarassed by this. Free speech is protected under the U.S.
Constitution and part of that is freedom of expression. Was it poor
taste on her part: Sure……. But was it a DICK thing to do to call her
out on it: YES! Shows yet again that Petrino cannot keep his eyes on
the big picture which is to do his job, in this case address how he is
preparing the team to win which we seem to have had a bit of trouble
with under his tenure.Way to be a DICK Petrino!"
