LeBron James Backlash Becoming Broken Record in Ohio with New Billboards

Everybody understands why people in Ohio are angry at LeBron James, but at this point, they would be well-served to just forget about the guy.

Clearly, LeBron is over Ohio. His talents are in South Beach. His signature "King's" basketball camp for kids, which took place this past weekend in San Diego, left Ohio in 2009. He clearly hasn't had any problem burning bridges.

It's hard to tell to what extent James considers Akron home at all, but what do Akroners have to gain by continuing to tell us how angry they are?

It just sort of gets old, like when the 200th Tiger Woods cocktail waitress surfaced. An ad agency in Akron recently spent $3,000 on a billboard just two miles from James' estate reading "Welcome Home LeBron" ("Home" with a big X through it), "How does it feel to be a SIDEKICK?"

The ad agency is hoping to get a grassroots anti-LeBron campaign started with the sign, as though that didn't happen when half of Ohio set his jersey on fire less than one month ago.

The Dan Gilbert rant, though controversial, had a lot of support. The LeBron James bitter beer was funny, but we get it.

In the local news footage about the sign, some locals seem to be turning to the corner, realizing that it's time to move on. That's the best thing they can do.
