Test Your Knowledge About Former Patriots Assistant Coaches While the Patriots were winning multiple Super Bowls at the beginning of the decade, it was partly because of the players they had, but their coaching staff had just as much to do with it.

Of course, during that stretch head coach Bill Belichick was able to secure his place as one of the best head coaches the game has ever seen. But he did have some help.

His defense was spear-headed by Romeo Crennel from 2001-04. Crennel helped orchestrate some of the best defenses of the era, much of the reason the Pats were able to win three Super Bowls during his tenure.

On the offensive side, a young Tom Brady was under the watchful eye of the team's offensive coordinator. This coordinator was there for all three Super Bowls as well before ending up taking a job to be the head coach at Notre Dame. He now works with former Patriots GM Scott Pioli in Kansas City along with Crennel as well.

Who was that offensive coordinator for those Super Bowl years?
