Report: Patrick Chung Undergoing Tests to Determine Severity of Knee Injury The Patriots will hopefully know soon just how long they will have to survive without second-year safety Patrick Chung.

According to a report by ESPN.com, a source close to the situation has revealed that Chung underwent tests on Monday to determine the severity of his knee injury incurred during Sunday's matchup against the Chargers. Chung left early in the second quarter with a noticeable limp after defending San Diego receiver Richard Goodman on a reception up the middle.

"Patrick is a pretty quick healer," head coach Bill Belichick said, according to the report. "Hopefully this won't keep him out long, if at all."

The Patriots used safeties James Sanders and Sergio Brown in Chung's absence, both of which made key plays during New England's 23-20 victory in San Diego.

Chung, who exploded in Week 4 with two blocked kicks against the Miami Dolphins, currently ranks second on the team in combined (48) and individual (34) tackles.
