NFL Week 12 Power Rankings Feature Michael Vick, Eagles Taking NFC East Lead

A lot happened in the NFL this past weekend. But as far as power rankings are concerned, nothing much has changed.

Mark Sanchez‘s fade throw to Santonio Holmes kept the Jets at No. 1, Tom Brady staved off Peyton Manning to keep the Patriots in the two-slot (and the Colts at No. 9) and Michael Vick continued his unbeaten streak by leading his Eagles (still at No. 8) to a win over division rival Eli Manning and the Giants (who stay at No. 10).

In fact, the entire top-10 has stayed the same because, quite frankly, all 10 teams played as they were supposed to on Sunday.

But that doesn’t mean it wasn’t fun to watch.

1 Last week: No. 1 Record: 8 – 2	New York Jets It was tempting to drop the Jets to No. 2 due to their lack of style points, but at the end of the day, they keep winning. And they’ll have two weeks to prove they really belong up top.
2 Last week: No. 2 Record: 8 – 2	New England Patriots The Patriots have proven they can beat the league’s elite teams on a week-to-week basis, but this week is about maintaining course against the lowly Lions.
3 Last week: No. 3 Record: 8 – 2	Atlanta Falcons Roddy White has led the Falcons in receiving yards in seven of 10 games this season.
4 Last week: No. 4 Record: 7 – 3	New Orleans Saints The Saints have scored 34 points in consecutive weeks, but that has come against the Panthers and Seahawks. It will be more impressive if the Saints can do it again Thursday against the improving Cowboys.
5 Last week: No. 5 Record: 7 – 3	Pittsburgh Steelers Watching highlights of wide receiver Mike Wallace’s 52-yard touchdown reception against the Raiders, it actually looked like the producer hit the fast-forward button. Wallace can burn.
6 Last week: No. 6 Record: 7 – 3	Baltimore Ravens Baltimore finishes its three-game swing through the NFC South this week with a game against the Buccaneers.
7 Last week: No. 7 Record: 7 – 3	Green Bay Packers The Packers have won their last three games — against the Jets, Cowboys and Vikings — by a combined score of 85-10.
8 Last week: No. 8 Record: 7 – 3	Philadelphia Eagles Running back LeSean McCoy has been compared to Brian Westbrook for some time now, and McCoy’s game-breaking run to beat the Giants really showed why. McCoy has 726 rushing yards, 381 receiving yards and seven total touchdowns this season.
9 Last week: No. 9 Record: 6 – 4	Indianapolis Colts Quarterback Peyton Manning has thrown three interceptions in a game 15 times, with five of those instances coming in New England.
10 Last week: No. 10 Record: 6 – 4	New York Giants The Giants have lost consecutive games to division opponents, and each loss has been by double digits. New York hosts Jacksonville this weekend in a game between a pair of teams that I don’t think we still know a whole lot about.
