Though many fans throughout Red Sox Nation have been disappointed with the efforts from starting pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka, NESN Insider Nick Cafardo insists he still brings value and depth to the Red Sox' rotation.
Cafardo noted that there may be teams out there that have interest in Matsuzaka, but the Red Sox should truly consider their options before making an impulse trade to ship him away.
"He's certainly battle-tested in the AL East, so he does have value," Cafardo said of the 29-year-old during Red Sox Hot Stove Live. "From my understanding, Theo Epstein hasn't heard the magic players to make a deal like that because he doesn't want to hurt his depth in the starting rotation."
