There was a lot to like about the Bruins' successful six-game road trip that stretched across western Canada and back, and team president Cam Neely was truly pleased with the way the team came out for each and every game.
During the weekly Presidential Address, Neely praised the Bruins for coming out hard for each road matchup, and said he was truly impressed by their drive to win.
The most impressive outing, in Neely's eyes, came against the Oilers. The B's had a tough schedule for that segment of the trip, as they played back-to-back against Vancouver and Edmonton, with little time to rest in between games. It would have been easy for Boston to make excuses and play tired, but they grinded it out for two points, and picked up two more on Tuesday against Ottawa.
"I think once they got that fifth win [over Edmonton] though, the thing that I liked about it is that they were determined to win all six games," Neely said. "The last couple games were not the easiest as far as mentally being up for those games compared to Calgary and Vancouver."
