Adam McQuaid might have the best haircut in hockey. If not the best, then at least he made up a new word in the process.
Several members of the Bruins received a new haircut for the postseason, taking part in the fourth annual Cuts for a Cause, hosted by 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Toucher and Rich, at Ned Devine’s in Boston on Thursday. Shawn Thornton, Zdeno Chara and Patrice Bergeron were among the 15 players to get their heads shaved — or in McQuaid’s case, shaped — to raise money for children with cancer.
McQuaid has been growing out his curly locks all season long, and decided to keep the long hair in the back, but shave a bit off the sides and the top.
“It’s a little mullet-y right now,” McQuaid said after the shave.
Thornton said he liked his haircut, even though it prominently displays his fresh scar after taking a skate to the face against the Blackhawks last week.
The Bruins raised a record $42,722 at the event. Check out all the haircuts in the video above.
