Ben Roethlisberger Cites Religious Faith for Not Living With Fiancee Before Marriage Ben Roethlisberger‘s past actions may (allegedly) exclude him from consideration for sainthood, but he hasn’t given up on his morals.

The Steelers quarterback, who has a pair of high-profile sexual assault charges on his rap sheet, told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that he’s not yet living with his fiancee because of his faith. The fiancee, Ashley Harlan, lives at home with her parents.

“We were kind of on and off for five years — almost six years now — so I’ve known her for a while,” Roethlisberger said.

While we’re not sure when the relationship was “on,” we do have a couple of guesses as to when it was off.

Despite the long list of accusations, Roethlisberger is trying his best to not let the criticism affect his life.

“People will always have opinions of everybody and me, and that’s fine, they’re entitled,” Roethlisberger told the newspaper. “People can say that it is whatever, but people who know and can see and are around us and know me, know that it’s something special when you find that person, and I’m extremely lucky.”
