Ray Allen placed a big wager this weekend on his alma mater, UConn, beating Kentucky on Saturday night in the NCAA national semifinal in Houston. He was thrilled when his Huskies beat Rajon Rondo's Wildcats to advance to Monday night's title game.

He won the bet, but he didn't earn a dime.

"I didn't want money," Allen said. "I just wanted Rondo to have some Huskie pride."

"He has to wear a UConn sweatshirt, hoodie and cap. There's three games on the road that we play coming up, and every shootaround, every walkthrough that we have, he's got to wear it. I'll supply the gear for him, and he'll be wearing it. If you catch him without it on, then you let me know."

UConn beat Kentucky 56-55 on Saturday night, getting 18 points, seven assists and six rebounds from junior standout Kemba Walker. When Allen showed up for work the next morning, he didn't have to rub it in.

"I didn't talk to [Rondo]," Allen said. "I just saw him when I came in here, and I didn't have to say much. I didn't have to talk about it, everybody knew what happened. That's pride enough for a man."

Rondo, unsurprisingly, had no comment on the matter. This week, his wardrobe will do all the talking.
