One of the few things in life that Manny Pacquiao had not accomplished was meeting the President of the United States, and the best pound-for-pound boxer on the planet made it clear that he intended to one day do so.

And what Manny Pacquiao wants, Manny Pacquiao gets — whether it’s a boxing title, a seat in the Congress of the Philippines or a meeting with Barack Obama.

Pacquiao, a guest on Thursday night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, said the president told the boxer that he’s a bigger fan of boxing than he is of basketball.

“We talked about boxing and basketball,” Pacquiao told Kimmel. “I told him, ‘Mr. President, I heard you like basketball.’ [And Obama said], ‘Oh, I mostly like boxing. I’m always watching boxing.’

Pacquiao was on the show to promote his upcoming fight with Shane Mosley, his CD single for “Sometimes When We Touch” and his cologne, MP8, which promises to leave you smelling like a champion (because really, when men decide what they want to smell like, a sweaty boxer is the first thing that comes to mind).

Pacquiao also said he invited Obama to Las Vegas to watch the fight, but the president unfortunately has some more important business to attend to. Rest assured, though, Obama will be watching on pay-per-view, just like the rest of us.
