It was a difficult loss to swallow for the Bruins and their fans, but NESN's Andy Brickley said he was encouraged by the Bruins' performance in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final.

Brickley liked the way that the penalty kill played, not allowing a goal in six shorthanded opportunities.

He also praised the performance of Bruins goaltender Tim Thomas, although that should go without saying for anyone who saw the Vezina Trophy candidate play in Game 1. He said that he expects Thomas and Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo to continue playing well throughout the series.

Brickley also discussed Alex Burrows' bite, a few flops by the Vancouver Canucks and what Zdeno Chara's role should be on the Bruins power play.
