Russian Soccer Player Struck With Electric Shock While Giving Jersey to Fan The penalty for a college football player giving away his jersey is well-established.

Georgie wide receiver A.J. Green was suspended four games for selling his jersey on eBay. Multiple Ohio State football players face suspensions for trading their jerseys, plus other items, for free tattoos.

In Russian soccer, it seems the penalty for a player giving away his jersey is a Taser shock to the back.

Danko Lazovic, the leading goal scorer for Zenit St. Petersburg in Russia, was hit with an electric shock by a police officer when he tried to give his jersey to a fan after a game Saturday, Metro UK reports.

"I don't know why that happened," Lazovic told Metro UK. "Maybe he thought that I was one of the fans. Sometimes people do really awful things."

The police force is reportedly being investigated to make sure it's clean by the time Russia hosts the 2018 World Cup.
